Obituary

Dorothy Kelakos, of Lowell Massachusetts passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home.



She was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Zaroulis) Kelakos.



Ms. Kelakos was a communicant of the Holy Trinity Greek Church of Lowell, a member of the Ladies Philoptochos Society and was very proud of her Greek heritage.

She enjoyed music, the arts, loved to sing and was a tireless volunteer in her younger years.



She graduated from Lowell High School, attended Northeastern University and the University of Geneva, Switzerland. She was employed by Raytheon and the Internal Revenue Service but retired to care for her mother at home.



She leaves her beloved sister Ourania Poulakos, of Lowell. She also leaves her loving niece and traveling companion Effie Poulakos Dragon, her husband Jim and their two sons Billy and Tommy of Tewksbury, all of who shared many fond moments with her; nephews George Poulakos, his wife Kelly and son Ari of New York City and Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, George M. Kelakos and wife Anchelee of Greenwich, Connecticut, George Kelakos Haberstroh of Bradenton, Florida, and nephew Charlie Kelakos Haberstroh of Westport, Connecticut his wife, Patty, and their children Charlie, Steve, Tom and Kim, and a second niece, Eleni Kelakos and husband Jim of Michigan. She left many cousins in the Greater Lowell area and Roubine Kelakos of Greece with whom she often communicated



She was pre-deceased by her brothers Tom, Michael and Charles Kelakos and sister Ann.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday July 26th at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Lowell at 10 a.m. Private burial will follow.
