Obituary

Grace Thompson, 81, wife of Rev. Jack Thompson, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at Tift Healthcare in Tifton.

Funeral services will be held 11 A.M., Friday, July 27, at Bethel Baptist Church in Ocilla, with Rev. Tracy Clements, Rev. Jim Berry, and Rev. Keith Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Waterloo Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Thursday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.

Mrs. Thompson was born December 22, 1925, in Tift County to the late Woodfin H. and Georgia Brown Wright. She was a homemaker and lived in the community all of her life. Mrs. Thompson was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Ocilla and a former member of the Waterloo Homemakers Club.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her husband, Rev. Jack Thompson of Waterloo; son and daughter-in-law, Randy & Diane Thompson of Waterloo; daughters and son-in-law, Sheran Thompson of Waterloo and Dianne & Jimmy Vance of Albany; 7 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sisters, Willie Mae Young of Nahunta, Mary Spradley of Ashburn, Helen Bledsoe of the Arp community, Virginia Day of Irwinville and Ruby McCurdy of Waterloo as well as several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be sent to Bethel Baptist Church, 314 Fitzgerald Hwy., Ocilla, GA 31774.
