Obituary

Andrews, Joseph F. of East Bridgewater, formerly of N. Quincy July 22, 2007.

Devoted husband of the late Helena "Rene" (Quinn) Andrews. Beloved father of Donna J. Harris of E. Bridgewater, Christine M. Heidke of Plympton, Paula J. Smith of E. Bridgewater, Michael F. Andrews of Braintree, and Karen J. Lavigne of Quincy. Loving brother of Barbara M. Qualter of Avon, and the late Paul G. Andrews. Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Thursday at 9:00 AM.

Funeral Mass in Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy at 10:00 AM.

Visiting hours Wednesday 4 - 8 PM.

Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joseph F. Andrews may be made to St. Coletta & Cardinal Cushing Schools of Massachusetts, 85 Washington St. Braintree, MA 02184.

Joseph resided in N. Quincy for over 40 years with his late wife Rene. He answered the call to service in 1942 and graduated as a member of the N. Quincy High School Class of 1943. He was honored to have served his country through three conflicts: WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. He was a 21 year veteran Navy Machinist Mate 1st Class, serving on the USS Valley Forge, USS Lexington, and USS Phillipines. He played baseball city sports and both he and his brother were drafted by the Boston Braves but chose to serve their country instead. He enjoyed camping, boating, and waterskiing with his children and grandchildren. He was an avid bowler.
