BEVERLY: Mary K. (Marren) Ambrose, 99, of 11 Bass River Road, died at home early Monday morning, July 23, 2007. She was the wife of the late William E. Ambrose, Sr., who died in April of 1999.
Born in County Sligo, Ireland on July 5, 1908, she was the daughter of the late Patrick and Elizabeth Marren. She graduated from the Sister of Charity School in Bannada Abby, County Sligo, Ireland.
A resident of Beverly for over eighty years, Mrs. Ambrose was employed as a private duty nurse for many years. She was a longtime member of the St. Mary Star of the Sea Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Judith V. Lawton of Haverhill, two sons, John P. Ambrose of Danvers and Paul F. Ambrose of Beverly and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by a son, William E. Ambrose, Jr. and a daughter, Mary Elizabeth Ambrose.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning in the St. Mary Star of the Sea Church at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in her memory to the charity of one’s choice. Interment will be held in the North Beverly Cemetery.
