Wife of the late Michael F. Ulchak. Loving mother of Robert & his wife Diane of Quincy, Linda Pietkiewicz & her husband John of Jackson, NH, and John & his wife Nela of Hingham. Sister of Alice Spakowski of Henniker, NH, and the late Waldamyr Semenanya, Oxanna Corbin & Mary Zinn. She leaves six grandchildren, Ana, John, Adam, & Jeffrey Ulchak, Taj & Sasha Pietkiewicz and her loyal dog Banjo.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., WOLLASTON, Wednesday at 9 AM. Funeral Mass in Saint Ann's Church, Wollaston at 10 AM.
Visiting hours Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
Burial in New Calvary Cemetery, Boston.
Mrs. Ulchak was a registered nurse, graduating from the Boston City Hospital School of Nursing in 1933 where she also became an instructor.
Mrs. Ulchak lived in Boston for 75 years before moving to the Wollaston section of Quincy. She enjoyed spending summers in Henniker, NH. She also enjoyed gardening, crossword puzzles, preparing Ukranian dishes and most of all, her grandchildren.
She was a founding member of the Bradford Street Neighborhood Association in the South End, being one of the first neighborhodd associations in the City of Boston. She was instrumental in obtaining acknolwledgement and preservation of the architecture of the South End and was honored as a "Grand Bostonian" by former Boston Mayor Kevin J. White.
