Obituary

OSTERVILLE—Edward Joseph Eastham, 77 years old, a Lowell native and resident of Osterville, died Wednesday December 4th, at the Regency Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, in Centerville. He was the husband of Barbara V. (Meagher) Eastham, who survives him.

He was born in Lowell, on August 29, 1925, a son of the late William D. and Mary A. (McCarthy) Eastham, and was a graduate of the Lowell Public School System and Lowell High School, Class of 1942.

Mr. Eastham was a World War II U.S. Marine Corps Veteran. He had been employed as a Lineman by Massachusetts Electric for over 34 years. He retired to Cape Cod in 1987. He held membership in the Marine Corps League and the Lowell Lodge of Elks, #87.

Surviving him besides his wife are a son and daughter-in-law: Mark E. and Mary Eastham, of San Jose, CA; two daughters and sons-in-law: Cathleen M. and Robert Kilmartin, of Osterville; and Susan E. and Brian Porter, of Brookfield, CT; four grandchildren: Kailey and Daniel Kilmartin and Elizabeth and Collin Porter; a sister: Dorothy C. Eastham, of Osterville.

He was the brother of the late Gertrude McDonough, Ruth Housekneckt, Leo, Donald, William and Stephen Eastham.

Friends may call on Sunday, December 8th, from 2 until 6 PM at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). His Funeral Mass to be offered Monday, December 9th, at 10:30 AM at ST. JOSEPH’S LITHUANIAN CHURCH, Lowell. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell. Donations in his memory may be made to Elder Services of Cape Cod & the Islands, 68 Route 134, South Dennis, MA 02660.
