Antone J. "Junebug" Oliveira, Jr., 67, of New Bedford died Saturday July 21, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Antone J. and Benvinda (Gomes) Oliveira, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Oliviera was formerly employed as a water treatment engineer at the New Bedford Water Treatment Plant until his retirement.
He served in the U.S. Army in Germany.
Survivors include a daughter, Elizabeth Resendes of Fall River; a sister, Maria F. Hicks of New Bedford; a grandson, Devin Resendes; two sisters-in-law, Eva Oliveira and Janice Oliveira, both of New Bedford; and nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Daniel Oliviera, Robert "Frog" Oliveira, and Edward Oliveira.
His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial with military honors will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours Tuesday 6-9 PM. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
