Mary Zaccagnini 84, Medford, died Saturday in a local nursing home following a brief illness. She is the wife of the late William Zaccagnini. Born in Boston, daughter of the late Anna (Ciulla) and Antonio Graffeo, she was graduate of the High School of Practical Arts Class of 1940. Mrs Zaccagnini was a Medford resident for over 53 years.
She had worked at Medford High School in the cafeteria for many years, retiring in 1986. In earlier years she worked at the former Schrafft’s Chocolate Company in Charlestown as a fancy chocolate packer. During WWII she worked in Boston’s garment district as a Master Seamstress.
She was a member of St. Joseph Mother’s Club in Medford. She enjoyed Dancing, singing, bowling and card playing.
She is survived by a daughter Elaine Tosto and her husband Paul of W. Medford, two sons William T. Zaccagnini, Jr. & John A. Zaccagnini both of Medford, Sister of Virginia Maniscalco of Woburn. Grandmother of Robin & Matthew Tosto and Sharon Esker of West Medford. Sister of the late Vita Russo, Josephine Bono, Michael Graffeo, Charles Graffeo, Frank Graffeo , Etta Gilardi and James Graffeo. Visiting hours Thursday, 4-8 pm.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home 306 Main Street Medford on Friday at 10:00 am. Funeral Mass in St., Joseph Church 118 High Street at 11:00 am.
Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.
