Obituary

Mr. Richard Grady "Ricky" Thompson, age 57, of Lowell, died unexpectedly on Sunday July 1st, 2007, at his Lowell residence.

He was born in Providence, Rhode Island on December 8th, 1949, the beloved son of Dr. & Mrs. William F. Thompson, of Yarmouthport.

He has lived in Lowell for 35 years, previously residing in Chelmsford, where he also graduated from Chelmsford High School.

"Rickett" as he was known to many, enjoyed sports, especially running. He ran the Boston marathon twice in his earlier years.

According to the family, Ricky had a great sense of humor and always had a joke or anecdote to tell. He was also known to have an incredible memory, have a very warm heart, and always willing to help others in any way he can.

Besides his parents, Dr. William F. Thompson and Claire (Grady) Thompson of Yarmouthport, he leaves two brothers and a sister-in-law, Michael F. Thompson of Kittery, Maine, and John L. & Leslie Thompson of Laconia, NH; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Patsy Leavitt and her husband, Pat of Buxton, Maine, Elizabeth H. Thompson and her husband William Drislane of Burlington, VT, and Margaret A. Hoadley, and her husband James, of Dubois, Wyoming; his aunt, Patricia Deadder of Mill Walley, CA; also many nieces & nephews.

Cremation took place on July 5th. Relatives & friends are invited to attend his graveside service on Monday, July 9th, 2007 at 1:00 PM at the Westlawn II Cemetery in Lowell (corner of Swan & Boston Roads). In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Living Waters Ministry of Hope-P.O. Box 2157, Lowell, MA 01851.
