David E. Napier, age 70, died Tuesday morning July 10, 2007, in Boston at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Born in Medford, he was the beloved son of the late Margaret (Burns) & Fletcher Napier.
David was a life long Medford resident. He was a self employed accountant and a longtime member of the Medford Elks Club. He was a past president of the Wellington Glenwood Little League and former coach of the St. Joseph CYO basketball program. He and his wife Margaret raised five boys and both were very involved with there activities. In his spare time David enjoyed playing cards and bowling. He was a former member of the Medford church bowling league.
David was a Medford High School graduate of 1955. He joined the US Army in October, 1958, and was discharged in October, 1964. Soon thereafter he attended Northeastern University & Bentley College. Most enjoyable to David was spending time with his large family especially his loving grandchildren.
In addition to his beloved wife Margaret (Sheehan) Napier, David was the loving father of Stephen Napier, his wife Susan, Jeffrey Napier and his wife Marygrace all of Medford, Edward Napier and his wife Amy of Malden, Timothy Napier and his wife Christine of Stoneham and the late Scott Napier. Dear father in law of Cathleen Napier of Medford. Also survived by 11 loving grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD, Friday at 10 AM. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Thursday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
