Charles R. Tornberg, 73, of 2 Boyd Street in the Cherry Valley
section of Leicester died Tuesday July 3 in UMass Memorial Hospital after an
illness.
He leaves a son Paul Tornberg of Sacramento, CA, a daughter Donna
Tornberg of Lowell, His long time companion with whom he lived Barbara A.
Moriarty of Cherry Valley, a brother Richard Tornberg of Oxford, four
sisters Martha Blaxland of East Longmeadow, Signe Quisenberry of Terrance,
CA, Eleanor O'Donnell of Plimpton and Leah Snow of Holbrook, a step-son Mark
Moriarty of Aurora, CO, a step-daughter Christina McNamara-Buell of Cherry
Valley and five grandchildren Jonathan, Jennifer and Nathan McNamara and
Ryan and Caden Moriarty and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Tornberg was born in Boston son of Henry and Emily (Carey) Tornberg.
He was a shipper for many years at Reed & Prince then at Northeast Display
Co. both formerly of Worcester. He was a member of the Greendale Men's
Club. He attended and enjoyed the Leicester Senior Center where over the
years he made many special friends. He enjoyed playing cards and puttering
around the house. He was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots
fan.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 12 in MORIN-MORRISON
FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main Street, Leicester at 1:00 PM. There are no calling
hours. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers
memorial donations may be made to the Leicester Senior Center, 40 Winslow
Ave., Leicester, MA 01524.
