Denton G. “Pete” Nutter Jr., of Pocasset and West End NC formerly of Needham died Sunday July 1, 2007 at the Falmouth Hospital. He was 80.
Born in Boston he was raised in Newton. He graduated from Nobles & Greenough and attended DePauw Univ. in Greencastle IN and graduated from the General Motors Institute of Technology in Michigan. He worked in his families business, Vita Needle Co. of Needham for over 40 years retiring as treasurer in 1988. He served on the Needham Park & Recreation Commission, was a member of the Needham Rotary Club and a longtime member of the Carter Memorial United Methodist Church in Needham.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years Margaret (Hawver) Nutter, his children Brad Nutter and his wife Loren of Boston, Marcia Fryer and her husband Dan of Richmond VA and Thomas Nutter of Marshfield, his grandchildren Ross, Richard and Pete Fryer, and Kristin and Kathryn Nutter, and his sister Marion L. Nutter of MN.
Funeral services were private.
