Obituary

Florence R. (O'Brien) Kilbride, of 11 Marble Street, died Monday, July 2nd in UMass Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She was the wife of the late Francis G. Kilbride. She leaves several nieces and nephews, including Maryan E. Butler and Mirick "Bill" Perkins both of Worcester, Robert Poskus of Dennis, MA and Thomas Malia of California; several grandnieces and grandnephews, including Amy Butler of Worcester and Wendy Cummings of Leicester; and several great-grandnieces and great-grandnephews; 5 sisters, Alice Cummings Darling, Mary O. Santman, Ellen Grady, Josephine Perkins and Elizabeth G. Poskus predeceased her.

She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Michael J. and Mary (Hayes) O'Brien. Mrs. Kilbride graduated with a Bachelor's and Master's Degree of Education from Worcester State College. She was a teacher at the Bryn Mawr School in Auburn for 16 years before retiring. She was a member of the Massachusetts Teachers Association, the Southern Worcester County Teachers Association and the Auburn Teachers Personnel Club. Mrs. Kilbride was an avid reader, a history buff and traveled extensively. She was a teacher both professionally and personally by the way she carried out life daily.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 10:30 A.M. on Friday, July 6th, in O'CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass to follow at 11:00 A.M. in St. Peter's Church, 931 Main Street. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Father Flanagan's Girls and Boys Town, 300 Flanagan Boulevard, P.O. Box 7000, Boys Town, NE 68010 or to Make-A-Wish Foundation, One Bullfinch Place, 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02114.
