Obituary

WORCESTER____Adele Rose (Puris) Ahern, 89, of Worcester died Saturday June 30 in her home. She died one year to the day of her husband, Edward J. Ahern who died Saturday July 1, 2006.

She leaves a daughter, Adele R. Paradis and her husband Richard H. of Worcester; a brother Paul Puris and his wife Genevieve of Worcester; grandchildren and great-grandchildren including, Elizabeth and Christopher Buffone and their daughter, Sophia and David and Nina Paradis and their children, Samantha, Jacob and Bethany. She also leaves many nephews and nieces and two special friends, Betty Loach and Irene Brio. A son, Edward J. Ahern, Jr. died in 1996. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of Peter and Elizabeth (Jankauskas) Puris and lived in Worcester all of her life.

Mrs. Ahern was a homemaker her whole life. She was a member of Ascension Church and its Womens Guild and its former Children’s Guild. She was also a member of the former Ascension High School Guild. Adele was a graduate of Commerce High School.

The family would like to thank the VNA Care Network & Hospice staff, especially Carolyn and Denise for their care and support.

The funeral will be held on Tuesday July 3 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward Street, with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Ascension Church, 40 Vernon Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday July 3 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. Flowers may be sent or memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
