Obituary

PEABODY- Arthur F. Kingsley, 84, husband of Carolyn M. (Moser) Kingsley, of Peabody, formerly of Salem, died Sunday afternoon, December 9, 2001, at the Kindred Healthcare of the North Shore, Peabody, following a long illness.

Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Arthur W. And Alice (O’Connor) Kingsley.

Prior to his retirement in 1989, he was employed for over 30 years as a letter carrier for the U.S Post Office in Salem. He was previously employed by the Eastern Mass Bus Company in Salem. In his retirement years, he worked for the former Merchants Warren Bank in Salem as a courier.

A lifelong resident of Salem, until moving to Peabody nine years ago, he was a member of the AOH, Division #18, the Salem Lodge of Elks, #799 BPOE, and was a former Post Commander of the DAV, all of Salem.

An Army veteran of WWII, he served with the medical corps and attained the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Besides his wife, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage, he is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Susan (Burns) and Thomas Royer of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Linda and Walter Smailus of Mechanicsville, Virginia, Barbara and Stanley Doron of Danvers, four grandchildren, Samantha Wuttig of Fairbanks, Alaska, Heather Royer of Berkeley California, Pamela Doron of Danvers, Melissa Doron of Richmond, Virginia, one great grandchild, Hanna Wuttig of Fairbanks, Alaska, one brother, Robert and his wife Maureen Kingsley of Danvers, one sister, Mary Driscoll of Beverly, a sister-in-law, Dorothea Kingsley of Peabody and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Henry Kingsley.

His funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2001 at 11 am in the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be Wednesday, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
