Obituary

Walter E. Timm, 89, of New Bedford died June 28, 2007 unexpectedly at home.
He was the husband of Carolyn M. (Perry) Timm and the late Eva (Baptiste) Timm.
Born on the island of St. Helena, the son of the late Charles and Margaret Timm, he emigrated to the United States in 1924. Mr. Timm was raised by his late aunt and uncle, Christina and Albert George.
He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Assumption Church.
Mr. Timm was formerly employed as a heavy equipment operator in construction and semi tractor trailer driver with J.J. Nissen before retiring from Teamsters Union Local #64 in Providence.
He was a member and former officer of Knights of Columbus Cardinal Medeiros Assembly.
Mr. Timm attended Fairhaven elementary schools and graduated from Fairhaven High School. He was active in youth sports playing football, basketball and track.
Survivors include his wife; 3 sons, Walter "Bummy" Baptiste of Walpole, Raymond Baptiste of Chelsea and Keith "Buttie" Baptiste of New Bedford; 3 daughters, Joan Baptiste and Lea "Twinkles" Britto, both of New Bedford and Desiree Borges of Wareham; 4 step-daughters, Vanessa Perreira, Susan Sylvia, Jackie Sylvia and Bernadette Souza, all of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Gertrude and Nera, both of England; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Robbie Timm, Michael Timm, David Timm and Barbara Rose.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford Monday, July 2nd at 8 AM. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of the Assumption Church at 9 AM. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday, July 1st from 4-8 PM.
