Tierney of West Bridgewater formerly of Brockton June 26, 2007 Loretta (Serlenga) Tierney 83 years. Wife of the late John A. Tierney. Mother of Barbara J. Olivieri and her husband John K. of Lakeville; John A. Tierney, Jr. and his wife Vanessa J. of Scituate and William J. Tierney of Easton. Grandmother of John and Kenneth Oliveiri, Kerry Peroni, Robin Duffy, Jonathan Tierney, Martina, Yvonne and Michael Tierney. She was the great grandmother of ten.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 9 am. Funeral Mass in St. Ann Church West Bridgewater at 10 am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday 4-8 pm.


Obituary

Loretta (Serlenga) Tierney 83 years of West Bridgewater died Tuesday at the Beth Israel-Deaconess Hospital in Boston after a brief illness. She was the wife for 55 years of the late John A. Tierney.
Mrs. Tierney was born in Brockton a daughter of the late Joseph and Agnes (Langendoefer) Serlenga and had been a resident of Brockton for most of her life before moving to Matfield Woods in West Bridgewater 15 years ago. She was a graduate of Brockton High School class of 1942.
Mrs. Tierney had been a homemaker who worked part-time at the former King’s Department Store in Brockton and in the cafeterias of the Kennedy Elementary School and Brockton High School.
She enjoyed cooking, gardening and feeding and watching the birds in her yard. She also loved jigsaw puzzles.
Mrs. Tierney had been a communicant of St. Ann Church in West Bridgewater.
She is survived by her three children Barbara J. Olivieri and her husband John K. of Lakeville; John A. Tierney, Jr. and his wife Vanessa J. of Scituate and William J. Tierney of Easton. She leaves 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Frances Serlenga and Joseph Serlenga
