Obituary

DRACUT-Philip M. Taylor, 56, a resident of Dracut, formerly of Charleston, SC, died suddenly on Friday, June 22nd in Lowell General Hospital. He was the husband of Karen (Osborne) Taylor of Charleston, SC.

He was born on March 15, 1951 in St. Matthews, SC a son of Mary Ruth (Copeland) Taylor of Columbus, OH and the late Reverend Wallace Taylor.

Mr. Taylor graduated from St. Matthews High School in St. Matthews, SC. He also earned a bachelor degree from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina.

Mr. Taylor was a retired Brigadier General from the United States Marine Corps, who served in the Vietnam Conflict.

Presently he worked at the University of Massachusetts Medical in Charlestown, MA.

In his free time he enjoyed gardening and chopping wood and was an avid golfer.

In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by his beloved daughter, Jessica Taylor, Ph.D. of Charleston, SC; his brother, Gary Douglas Taylor and his wife Marianne of Knoxville, TN; his sister, Nancy Kiser and her husband Michael of Columbus, OH; his extended family, Christopher and William Kazalski, Paul and Debbie Kazalski, Michael and the late Kathy Garity all of Dracut and Linda and Thomas Battle of Groton, MA and the late Babci.

Friends may call at the Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT on Tuesday from 10:00 until 11:00 AM with his funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM in the funeral home.
