WORCESTER - Israel Torres Sr., 64, of 86 Austin Street died Friday, November 29 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center - Memorial Campus after an illness.
He leaves is wife Luz M. Gonzalez of Worcester; four sons Israel Torres Jr. and Anthony Torres both of Worcester, Richard Torres of Naples, FL and Alberto Torres of Norwalk, CT; two daughters Lillian J. Torres of Worcester and Janira Torres of San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico; two brothers Wilfredo and Junior Torres both of Bayamon, Puerto Rico; two sisters Elsie Torres of Bayamon, Puerto Rico and Josefina Torres of Brooklyn, NY; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was born in Bayamon, Puerto Rico son of Vincente and Modesta (Torres) Torres.
Mr. Torres came to the United States in 1950. He worked as a setup man for machine operators for Norwalk Power Metal in Norwalk, CT before moving to Worcester in 1996.
Funeral services will be held in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. Burial was in Cemeterio El Remanzo. There are no calling hours. Alfred Roy & Sons (www.Royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond St. is directing local arrangements.
