Obituary

Worcester - Miriam S. Nassar, 79, died Thursday, June 21, 2007 at UMASS Memorial Hospital. She leaves a sister, Connie Nassar; a sister-in-law, Doris Nassar, both of Florida; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins among whom were her beloved local caregivers, Kenneth, Alberta, and Patricia Milhem. She was predeceased by her brother, J. Victor Nassar, and niece Beth Nassar Milam, both of Florida. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Gamil and Rose (Doura) Nassar. She graduated from North High School and Becker Junior College. Miss Nassar worked at Worcester State Hospital for 40 years, retiring in 1988 as supervisor of the Medical Records Department. She volunteered for the Hahnemann Campus of UMASS Memorial Healthcare, and RSVP. She was a member of the State, County, and Municipal Employees Association of Massachusetts. A life long member of Belmont Street Baptist Church, Miss Nassar was active in teaching Sunday school, as well as the Women's Missionary Society, considering the Church membership her extended Family.

A Celebration of Her Life will be held Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at Belmont Street Baptist Church at 11:00 AM. Family and friends may call from 10-11 AM at the Church as well as 5-7 PM Monday, June 25 at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln St. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or Belmont Street Baptist Church, 25 Belmont St. Worcester, MA 01605.
