Mildred N. Inglis 85, died Monday June 18th in the Southeast Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center after a period of failing health. She was the wife of 63 years to George Inglis of Whitman.
Born in Hanson, brought up in Whitman, she was a daughter of the late Ralph N. and Grace (Nash) Chaney.
A life long resident of Whitman and a graduate of Whitman High School class of 1941.
Mildred worked as a cashier at JJ Newbury’s and as a waitress for Walters Luncheonette, both in Whitman.
She was a member of the Whitman Mothers and Rainbow Clubs for more than 25 years, she loved to read and do jigsaw puzzles.
She is survived by her husband George, her son and daughter, David Inglis of Whitman and Maryanne (Inglis) Rudis of Virginia, her sister Hazel Chaney of Whitman, 3 grandchildren Cheryl (Inglis) Mahoney, Joel Inglis both of Whitman, and Daniel Rudis of Virginia 1 great-grandchild Ashley Mahoney of Whitman. She was also the sister of the late Emma Chaney.
Her Service will be held Saturday June 23rd at 10:00 A.M. in the All Saints Episcopal Church, Park Ave. Whitman. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours Friday June 22nd 4-8PM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel Plymouth Street (Rt 58 at the Rotary Circle) Whitman. Donations may be made in her name to the American Cancer Society, 1115 West Chestnut Street/Suite 301, Brockton, MA 02301
