WORCESTER - Joseph E. McDermott, 68, of 139 Austin Street died Wednesday, November 27 in his nieces home 559 Prospect Street, West Boylston.
He leaves his wife of 20 years Maureen B. (Brennan) McDermott of Worcester; five sons John, Michael and Mark McDermott all of Chicago, Jason Brennan of Worcester and Joel Adams of Las Vegas, NV; four daughters Melanie McDermott of Chicago, Tara McDermott of West Boylston, Elizabeth Brennan of Cranston, RI, and Teresa McDermott of Worcester; two sisters Barbara A. Monahan and Gayle M. Wallace of Worcester; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a son Edward McDermott III; a daughter Theresa McDermott and a sister Pauline Coombs. He was born in Worcester son of Joseph E. and Olive (Nagle) McDermott.
Mr. McDermott was a cook for various restraunts and a painter, retiring 15 years ago. He was member of the Distant Thunder Motorcycle Group.
Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 3 at 1 pm in St. John's Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home (www.Royfuneral.com) 12 Hammond Street is directing arrangements.
