Obituary

Leicester- Louise E. (Hjelm) Voellings, 71, of 47 Pleasant Street, died Wednesday, Nov. 27, at home, after an illness.

She leaves her husband of 48 years, William R. Voellings; a son, Carl W. Voellings of Spencer; three daughters, Carolann Voellings of Webster, Jean Marie McSheehy and Debra Lou Moran, both of Worcester; two brothers, John Hjelm of Oxford, and Dr. James Hjelm of Virginia; three sisters, Madeline DeSalvio, Martha Watson, and Donna Dion, all of Worcester; 3 grandchildren; nephews and nieces. A son, William O. Voellings, died in 1957. A sister, Mary Sargentelli of Worcester, died in May. She was born in Worcester, daughter of Russell and Edna (Tobin) Hjelm and lived there all of her life, before moving here eight years ago. She graduated from the former High School of Commerce, Worcester.

Mrs. Voellings was a hostess at the former White House Restaurant in Worcester for more than 40 years, before retiring.

She was a member of St. Bernards Catholic Parish, Worcester.

A memorial Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 30, in St. Bernard's Church, 228 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701. Dirsa-Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton Street, Worcester, is directing arrangements.
