Mrs. Edna B. (Lanagan) Shaw 100, a lifelong Franklin resident, died Monday June 11, 2007 at the Maples Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Wrentham following a long illness. She was the wife of the late Glenn S. Shaw Sr., who died in 1971.
She was born in Monson, Mass. February 25, 1907 a daughter of the late John and Mary (Mitchell) Lanagan. The family soon moved to Franklin, where she was raised and educated.
Mrs. Lanagan was a retired homemaker. Her passion in life was her church. She was a life member of the Shendonville Bapist Church. She taught vacation Bible school, and was instrumental in establishing with her late brother Rev. Walter E. Lanagan, the former Franklin Gospel Mission in Franklin. She was also an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
She is survived by 2 sons Glenn S. Shaw Jr. of Wrentham, Richard E. Shaw of Bellingham, 3 daughters Esther M. Gallup of Bountyful, Utah, Edna M. Rinaldi of Plainville, Evelyn M. Breton of Cumberland, Rhode Island, 22 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Rev. Walter E. Lanagan, Earl Lanagan, Frank Lanagan, Chester Lanagan, Mary Porter, and Ida Stewart.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral service Friday at 2:00PM in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. (www.franklinfuneral.com). Interment will follow in the family lot in Union Street Cemetery.
