Joseph T. Marquis Sr, 66, of Brown Avenue, Manchester, NH died Sunday November 24, 2002 at the Elliot Hospital, Manchester. He was born in Lynn, MA on September 1, 1936, a son of the late Charles and Mary (Brienza) Marquis. He was a resident of Manchester since March 2002, formerly living in Derry, NH since 1986, and Lynn, MA. He was a graduate of St. Mary’s in Lynn, MA and Northeastern University, Boston, MA Class of 1963. He was a Korean Conflict veteran having served in the US Navy. He was employed as an electrical engineer for ASCEC in Burlington, MA until retirement in 1996. He was a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Agnes R. (Karakaedos) Marquis, of Manchester, one daughter, Rosemarie Fielding, of Manchester, three sons, Joseph T. Marquis Jr., Swampscott, MA, Charles J. Marquis, Manchester, Michael J. Marquis, Concord, seven grandchildren, one brother, Robert F. Marquis, Florida, one sister, Marilyn Florence, Salem, MA and Florida, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday November 27th at 11:00 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Crystal Avenue, Derry with cremation following. Friends may call at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry on Tuesday from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8.
