TEWKSBURY - Sally A. Nicholas, age 72, a life long resident of Somerville died Sunday
afternoon, June 10, at Tewksbury Hospital after a courageous nine year battle with Huntington’s
Disease. She was the beloved wife of Richard A. Nicholas, with whom she would have celebrated
a 51st wedding anniversary on June 21st.
Mrs. Nicholas was born in Ayer, MA, the daughter of the late A. Edgar Thibault and Josephine
(Auld) Thibault. She was raised in Somerville, and graduated from Somerville High School with
the Class of 1953. She resided in Somerville until moving to Tewksbury in 1995.
She was active in the Somerville, Watertown, and State Chapters of the Pythian Sisters, and was
a Past Chief for the Somerville Chapter.
She was employed throughout her life as a bookkeeper and office manager for several different
companies.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Richard S. Nicholas of
Tewksbury, and his wife Jacqueline (Cunniff), and Michael A. Nicholas and his wife Maxine
(Hood) of Navarre, Fla.; two brothers, Thomas Thibault of Malden and Gary Thibault of
Columbia, S.C.; a sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne Cody and her husband James of Myrtle Beach.
S.C.; a sister-in-law, Carol Thibault of Ocean Pines, MD; five grandchildren, Erin, and Sean
Nicholas, Mattew, Jade and Iver Nicholas; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also sister of the late Edgar Thibault.
Her Funeral Service was held Friday, June 15, in the
funeral home. Burial was in Tewksbury Cemetery. Memorials to the
