James L. O’Neil, 85, of East Falmouth formerly of Dedham, died June 8, 2007 in West Roxbury. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy H. (Devine) O’Neil.
Mr. O’Neil was born in Lynn and was the son of the late Robert and Margaret (Cadigan) O’Neil. He was the owner and operator of the Riverside Flower Shop in Hyde Park for over 30 years. A World War II U.S Army Air Force Veteran, he was a member of the Dedham American Legion Post 18 and the Hyde Park Rotary Club.
He was the father of Richard O’Neil and his wife Donna of Camarillo, CA, Diane Crawford and her husband Joseph of Amherst, NH, Carol Langley and her husband Brian of East Falmouth and Brian J. O’Neil and his wife Suzanne of Needham. Grandfather of Megan, Lauren, Jason, Kate, Kelly and Ryan.
His funeral will be held from the George F. Doherty & Sons Funeral Home, 456 High St., Dedham, on Monday at 8:00 AM with a funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church, Dedham, at 9:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be on Sunday from 4-8 PM. Interment in Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in James’ memory to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701-4688.
