Obituary

Joseph F. Sirois , 75, of Lawrence, passed away Sunday, June 3, 2007 at his daughters home in North Troy Vermont with his family at his side. Born in Lawrence, he was the late son of Ludger J Sirois and Germaine Schelling. He attended Sacred Heart Grammar School and was a graduate of Central Catholic H.S in Lawrence. Following high school he served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1955. Mr. Sirois worked as a Maintenance Supervisor for the Lawrence Housing Authority for over 30 years prior to his retirement in 1997 . He was a lifelong resident of Lawrence, a city he was proud to call home. Joseph was also a member of the Zoning Board for the city of Lawrence up until December of 2006. Joe loved his church, he was an active member of Sacred Heart Parish throughout his life, and was heart broken when it closed down in 2005. He was also a member of the Elks Brotherhood in Lawrence, the LaSalle Club, and the Hibernians.
Joseph lived for his family , he was especially close to his grandchildren and loved the simple things in life. He was also an avid collector of baseball cards, coins ,old records, and post cards. He spent many an afternoon at the flea market or going to the yard sales. He loved Sunday morning breakfasts with his friend Frank. Joe loved going to the beach in the summer time, he loved the sun, and he loved to sit on his porch and watch the sun go down as he said his rosary. Every year he would take his grandchildren to Topsfield Fair, He loved corn on the cob. Joseph had an especially sunny disposition, he greeted every day with a prayer and a smile, life was a gift to him, and every day was a beautiful day even when things got tough. He had unwavering faith in the Lord. He was a wonderful father, grand father, brother and friend. He will be sorely missed by many.
He is survived by his daughter Danielle A. Pappalardo; grandson Anthony and granddaughters Elizabeth and Alexandrea of Vermont. He also leaves brother John Sirois and wife Cynthia of Lawrence, Phillip Sirois and wife Beverly of Andover, Frank Sirois and wife Janice of Amesbury, sister Germaine Sheehan and husband James of Haverhill, Sr. Marie Germaine Sirois and sister Madeline Fluet of Lawrence and brother Louis and his wife Yvette. Friend and companion Carol Dunham of Lowell. He is predeceased by wife Lucie Sirois . Brothers Vincent Sirois and Fr. George Sirois . Sisters Pauline, Margaret, Martha, and Sr. Racheal Sirois. He also leaves many nieces and nephews.

ARRANGEMENTS: Family ad friends may call on Friday from 3:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home 233 Lawrence Street Methuen, MA 01844. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 9:00a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church in Lawrence, MA. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Andover, MA.
