Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Randolph G. “Sonny” Oliver, 78, of 10 Dale Avenue, died Monday, June 4, 2007 in the Seacoast Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was the husband of Catherine A. (Saulnier) Oliver.
Born in Gloucester on November 8, 1928, he was the son of the late Gilbert R. and Estelle (Sears) Oliver.
A U.S. Navy veteran, he served during the Korean War and was honorably discharged in April of 1954.
“Sonny” was employed for many years as a union electrician for the Local #103 out of Boston.
In addition to his wife of twenty-nine years, he is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa J. and David Sweeney of Groveland, a son and daughter-in-law, Craig G. and Beth (Hannibal) Oliver of Gloucester, stepchildren, Catherine Sullivan Mustone and Mark “Sully” Sullivan both of Gloucester, six grandchildren, Dustin and Erin Sweeney, Lindsey and Jaime Oliver and Michael and Timothy Cawley, four step-grandchildren, Addy Blakeley Sullivan, Jason Puglisi, C. J. Mustone and Ryder S. Mustone, a sister, Jacqueline, wife of Fred Doucette, two brothers, Kenneth and his wife, Cali Oliver and Gilbert and his wife, Doris Oliver, his mother-in-law, Cece Silva, three sisters-in-law, Daisy Oliver, Joyce and her husband, William Shields, Mary and her husband, Thomas Rose, a brother-in-law, Everett and his wife, Virginia Saulnier and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Estelle and her husband, Fred Goodwin, two brothers, Donald Oliver and John G. Oliver, and a stepson, David P.Sullivan, who was lost at sea aboard the Andrea Gail.
In keeping with his wishes, services will be held privately.
