Florence M. (Downey) O’Neil-83, of Hudson, MA, died Monday, June 4, 2007, at home with her loving family at her side.
She was the wife of the late Francis J. O’Neil who died in 1977.
Born in Boston, MA, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Florence (Cannon) Downey.
She was a graduate of Saint Columbkille H.S. in Brighton, MA.
She was a self employed salesperson of Avon Cosmetics for over 40 years. She was part of a group that sang for the USO during WWII in the Boston area and was known for her collection of stylish hats.
She is survived by her children; Richard E. O’Neil, Michael J. O’Neil and his wife Leslee, Catherine D. Parker and her husband Bradlee, all of Hudson, MA, and Louise Hutt and her husband Lenny of Westborough, MA. She is also survived by her sister; Dorothy Whalen of Scituate, MA, her sister in law; Ann Nancy Jacobs of Hudson, MA, her grandchildren; Ben and Adam Bradley, Nicole and Jason Parker, Neil and Emily Hutt, and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Thursday, June 7, 2007 at 9:00 a.m. in Saint Michaels Church, 21 Manning street Hudson, MA. Calling hours will be held Wednesday, June 6, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Tighe-Hamilton Funeral Home, Inc. 50 Central Street, Hudson, MA 01749. Burial will be in Forestvale Cemetery, Hudson, MA.
