Obituary

East Bridgewater - Richard W. Ortenzi, 78, of East Bridgewater died Sunday, June 3, 2007, at Brockton Hospital. He was the husband of Patricia (Burke) Ortenzi.

Born Dec. 1, 1928, in East Bridgewater, he was the son of the late Pangrazio and Sofia (Algeni) Ortenzi.

A lifelong resident of East Bridgewater, Mr. Ortenzi was a graduate of East Bridgewater High School.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and the Korean War.

Mr. Ortenzi owned and operated Dick’s Barber Shop in South Weymouth for 55 years, retiring January 2007.

He was a member of St. John Church in East Bridgewater.

Mr. Ortenzi was also a member of the East Bridgewater Commercial Club and the Old Colony Sportman’s Club in Pembroke.

His passions included spending time with his family and friends and fishing, skeet shooting, hunting and boating.

He was the beloved husband of Patricia (Burke); loving father of Julanne Joubert of East Bridgewater; cherished “Papa” to Kaitlyn Joubert; father-in-law of James Joubert; brother of Lena Lucchetti of Cumberland, RI, Nellie Vacca of Brockton and the late Albert, Alfred, Ralph and John Ortenzi. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral from the Wales-Prophett Funeral Home, 35 Spring St., East Bridgewater, Thursday at 9:15 am. Funeral Mass in St. John’s Church at 10 am. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 pm. Burial in Central Cemetery.
