Evelyn E. Underwood, 90, of Normandy Drive in Cranston died Sunday, June 3, 2007 at her home. She was the wife of George T. Underwood. They had been married for 68 years.
Born in Providence, the daughter of the late Henry W. & Ethel M. (Desonie) Podvin. She had been a resident of Cranston since 1950. She took great pride in her yard. She enjoyed her flowers, gardening and the animals, especially the chickadees and the other birds that visited. She always reminded everyone of her desire to ‘Soar like the Eagles” and to think of her when an eagle flew above.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Dianne W. Fuzek and her husband, Anthony of Greenville, three grandchildren, John, Anthony and Karen and 3 great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her constant companion, Skippy.
Her funeral service to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Wednesday at 10:00 am in the ANDERSON-WINFIELD Funeral Home, Route 44 at Greenville Common, Greenville. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery. Visitation respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Humane Society of the United States, 2100L Street, NW, Washington, DC 20037.
