Arthur E. Treadwell, age 76 of Marshfield, formerly of Dover and Wellesley, passed June 2, 2007, at home surrounded by immediate family following a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of 53 years to Anne M. (Blackhurst) Treadwell and devoted father of: Curtis Treadwell of Rochester, NH, Lynn Doyle of Carver, Aleta Treadwell of East Falmouth and dear brother of Richard Treadwell of Raymond, NH (formerly of Sudbury, MA). Also, survived by 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Treadwell served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, and was honorably discharged. He retired from John Hancock, Boston after 28 years of service where he then worked part-time for several years for Sears Roebuck & Co., Norwell before becoming ill.
Mr. Treadwell is remembered by his family as a very kind, caring and loving individual. He was particularly concerned with the future of our natural environmental, ensuring to recycle with every opportunity and reserve on energy resources.
A private service will be held at Eaton’s Funeral Home, Needham, June 7, with a Military Honors burial at Highland Cemetery, Dover immediately following.
