Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish at 9 am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Richard F. Dufresne,75 years of Brockton died Saturday night at his home after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Leona C. (Bonin) Dufresne. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late Edmund and Mary Etta (Avery) Dufresne. He attended Sacred Heart School and was a graduate of Brockton High School, and had been a Brockton Police Officer for 30 years retiring in 1992. He was a member of the Massachusetts Police Association, enjoyed bowling, reading and was an avid sports fan. He had been an umpire for baseball and basketball games for local high schools.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years Leona C. (Bonin) Dufresne; three children Mark R. Dufresne and his wife Colleen of Fall River, Denise A. Martin and her husband Mark of Bridgewater and David M. Dufresne of Brockton, 7 grandchildren Christopher, Mark Jr. and Lisa Martin and Danielle and Brienne Dufresne, Sean and Kayley McNulty and many nieces and nephews, four brothers, Edmund, Louis, George, and John all of Brockton and one sister Eva Mae Rocha of Taunton. He was the brother of the late Florence Mahan, Evangeline Landry, Louise Dufresne, Beatrice Muniz and Gerald Dufresne.
