Obituary

LOWELL—Daniel F. Ahearn, 48 years old, died early Friday morning at the Julie House, after an extended illness.

He was born in Lowell, on November 19, 1954, a son of the late Herbert L. and Rita F. (Boyle) Ahearn, and was a graduate of the Chelmsford Public School System.

Mr. Ahearn was a lifelong resident of Lowell and had been employed as a Stone Mason. He served in the United States Marine Corps. He was an active volunteer at Brigid’s Crossing, the Merrimack Valley Catholic Charities Food Pantry, the Catholic Charities Office, the Julie Outreach Center and was a member of the Julie Outreach C.A.B.

Surviving him are eleven brothers and sisters: Joan Simpson, of Deerfield, NH; Marylou Prescott, of Chelmsford; Barbara Gagnon, of Chelmsford; Regina Oteri, of Lowell; Gail Thompson, of Stewartsville, MO; Patricia Carl, of Plattsburg, MO; Edward W. Ahearn, of Somerset; Marie Lessard, of Kingston, NH; Rita DeVincentis, of Pepperell; John “Timmy” Ahearn, of Chelmsford; and Bernard Ahearn, of Farmington, NH; also many nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Frederick G., Herbert L. and James J. Ahearn.

Friends may call Sunday, November 24th, from 3 until 7 PM at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). His Funeral Mass to be offered Monday morning, November 25th, at 11 AM at ST. MARY’S CHURCH, Chelmsford. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Catholic Charities Julie House, 70 Lawrence Street, Lowell, MA 01852.
