Lucille Edwards 64 of Chicago, Illinois and formerly of Walpole died May 23 in Thorek Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
Born in Norwood, the daughter of the late William and Eleanor (Doughty) Edwards, Miss Edwards was raised in Walpole and attended Walpole public Schools.
She was a graduate of the House in the Pines Academy in Norton in 1962 and was a graduate of Emerson College in 1966 with a degree in speech therapy.
Lucille worked as a teacher at the first Bethlehem School and Church in Chicago, then as a secretary and finally as a housekeeper.
She was a longtime member at First Bethlehem Church where she directed the choir and did some theatrical work.
Miss Edwards is survived by her sister, Mary E. Schmidt and her husband, Udo.
She is also survived by her friend, Steven Moncznek and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held in Walpole in July with burial in Rural Cemetery in Walpole.
