LOWELL—Mary C. (Dawson) Owens, 83 years old, died Tuesday at Saints Memorial Medical Center, after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Gerald F. Owens, who died in December of 2000.
She was born in Lowell, on July 1, 1919, a daughter of the late James and Annie F. (Russell) Dawson, and was a graduate of the Immaculate Conception Grammar School and Keith Hall.
Mrs. Owens was a lifelong resident of Lowell and a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church. She held membership in the Holy Rosary Sodality of that parish and the A.A.R.P.
Surviving her are her three children: Beverly Jump, of Lowell; Judith Robinson, of Seabrook, NH; and Gerald and Kathleen (Shugrue) Owens, Jr., of Lowell; six grandsons: John R. and Michelle Callahan, Daniel P. Callahan, David O. Robinson, Justin B. Robinson, Kevin M. Owens and Timothy P. Owens; three great grandchildren: Michaela Callahan, John R. Callahan, IV and Thomas Callahan; a sister: Mildred Burns, of Lowell; also several nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Doris Sullivan and Rita Sayer.
At her request there will be no calling hours. Friends are invited to her Memorial Mass to be offered Friday morning, November 22nd, at 9 AM at the IMMACULATE CONCEPTION CHURCH, Lowell.
