Obituary

Mrs. Ethel C. Keating, age 88, of Woburn, died May 27th at her home following a lengthy illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Bernard J. Keating. Born in Waterbury, CT she was the daughter of the late Benedict and Zafia (Saarek) Stankiewicz.

Ethel was raised in Rockland and has been a Woburn resident for over sixty years. She worked for the Sylvania Corp for thirty years and later retired from Marshalls where she worked as a stock clerk. Ethel, known as “Grammy”, to her neighbors and friends enjoyed shopping, knitting, sewing and baking. Memorial contributions may be made in Ethel's memory to Hospice Care Inc. 100 Sylvan Rd. Ethel is survived by her daughters, Diane Sullivan of Palm Bay, FL and Maryann Carcione of Woburn. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Dawn, Timothy, Stephen, Sean, Brian and Megan Sullivan, Kathy Canada, Doug and Greg Carcione. She is further survived by twenty great grandchildren. In addition to her late husband and parents, Ethel is predeceased by her grandson Michael Sullivan, brother Stanley Smith, sisters, Josephine Casino, Anna Machinski and Helen Stankiewicz.

Funeral from the McLaughlin – Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant Woburn, Saturday, June 2nd, at 9 a.m. Followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church, 280 Main St. Woburn, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Friday 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn.
