Obituary

WORCESTER-Joyce A. (Brown) Thunberg, 68, of Worcester formerly of East Brookfield passed away Tuesday, May 29 peacefully at home.

She leaves three sons, Richard W. Thunberg, Jr. of Thompson, CT, David C. Thunberg of Framinham and his companion Marci Lait of N. Grafton and Gary P. and his wife Karen Thunberg of Spencer; her daughter, Karin M. and her husband Bill Richard of Paxton; two brothers, Jack F. Brown and his wife Patricia and Patrick C. Brown both of Worcester; three grandchildren, Katelyn and Cody Thunberg and Tyler Richard; a sister-in-law, Phyllis Thunberg of Worcester, nieces and nephews. She also leaves her former husband, Richard W. Thunberg, Sr. of Paxton.

She was born in Burlington, VT the daughter of John and Ruth (Perras) Brown. She graduated from St. Peter’s High School, Worcester. Joyce was a waitress at the Salem Croft Inn in Brookfield and then a receptionist in the main office at the Fair Department Store, before retiring in 1990. Most recently she worked at LaPorte Driving School. She was a former active member of the Hamilton Rod & Gun Club.

Visiting Hours for Joyce will be Friday, June 1 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with a Funeral Service at 7:30 PM at CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the ASPCA Gift Processing Center, P.O.
