Florio, of Brockton, November 20, 2002, Leo Florio, 80 years. Husband of the late Eugenia S. (Andrews) Florio. Father of Steven and Cheryl Florio.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Saturday at 8am. Funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church at 9am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery. Visiting Hours Friday 4-8pm.

Obituary Information

Mr. Florio died Wednesday evening at the Brockton Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Brockton, he was one of twelve children; the youngest son of the late Frank and Teresa (DiFalco) Florio. He was a lifelong resident of Brockton, living his entire life in the same home he was born. He attended Brockton schools, and was a graduate of Brockton High School. During WWII he served in the US Army as a Corporal MP in the 767th Military Police Battalion in Europe. For many years he had been employed by Howard and Foster Shoe Company of Brockton as a cutter and then became a construction laborer, employed by a local union for 21 years until his retirement. He enjoyed spending time with his family, home projects, and landscaping his yard. He was known in Brockton for his generosity and many friends.

He is survived by his son Steven M. Florio of Hopkinton, his daughter Cheryl Florio of New York, NY, one granddaughter, many nieces and nephews, two brothers Frank Florio of Milton, Pat Florio of Brockton and one sister Geraldine “Gerry” Perrault of Brockton. He was the brother of the late Roland Florio, Anthony Florio, Fannie Cifelli, Carrie Furfaro, Edith Florio, Florence Florio, Robert Michael Florio and Henry Florio.
