Janet R. (Lanza) Arruda, of Woburn formerly of Las Vegas, NV and Somerville, died May 27th following a short illness. Born in Boston she was the cherished daughter of Salvatore A. and Lucy (Macuilli) Lanza of Windham, NH.
Janet was raised in Somerville and moved to Woburn in 1968 and lived here for many years with her family. She later moved to Las Vegas, NV for a short time and recently relocated back to Woburn three years ago. Over the past two years she worked as an executive assistant at the Gradient Corporation located in Cambridge. Mostly devoted to her son and family, Janet enjoyed spending time at the beach, listening to music and being active with her loving family.
In addition to her parents, Janet is survived by her beloved son Salvatore C. Arruda of Woburn. Her devoted sisters, Gail and Susan Lanza both of Woburn, Vickie Lanza and Sallie Lanza-Nijhof of Windham, NH. She is also survived by several loving nieces and nephews and is further survived by her former husband, William Arruda III of Colorado Springs, CO.
Funeral from the McLaughlin – Dello Russo Funeral Home 60 Pleasant St. Woburn, Thursday at 9 a.m. followed by funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Church 280 Main St. Woburn at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Wednesday, 4 thru 8. Interment will be private. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Janet’s memory to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 89 South St., suite LL01, Boston, MA 02111.
