Obituary

WORCESTER-Paraskevi (Menegatou) Parafestas, 92, of 249 June Street, died Thursday, November 21st in Holy Trinity Eastern Orthodox Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Her husband George Parafestas died in 1958. She leaves a son Anastasios Parafestas, and 3 daughters; Mena Panagiotou, Margarita Panagopoulos and Elisabeth Nikiforakis all of Worcester, 2 sisters; Vera Zekakos of New York City, and Anthi Koulalis of Worcester, 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and many nephews and nieces. A daughter Chrisaugi Lykopoulos, a brother Nikolaus Menegatou and a sister Diamando Menegatou predeceased her.

She was born in Constantinople the daughter of George and Elisabeth (Aliberti) Menegatou and came to this country in 1965. She had been by Fred’s Stitching Company as a stitcher for 10 years retiring in 1975. She was a member of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral.

The funeral will be Saturday, November 23rd from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, with a service at 11:00 Am in St. Spyrdion Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 102 Russell Street. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, November 22nd from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
