James Harvey Tillery, 80, of Tifton, died Sunday, May 27, 2007 at Tift Health Care. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 30, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Terrell Roberts will officiate with graveside services and burial to be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2007, in Cheatam Hill Memorial in Marietta. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 29, 2007, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Tillery was born on December 25, 1926 in Florida and was the son of James Harley "Harle" Tillery and Nancy Poole Tillery, both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Tillery; and one son, Billy Tillery. He was a retired lineman with Cobb County Electric Company.
Mr. Tillery is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy Leon and Carol Tillery of Marietta; one brother, Edgar "Ed" Tillery of Tifton; one sister, Ethelene "Teen" Butler of Blakely; three grandsons, Jimmy Lynn Tillery and his wife, Jennifer, of Marietta, A. J. Tillery and Eli Tillery; and one great grandson, Jordon Lynn Tillery of Marietta.
