Ayers, Charles "Charlie" J. life long resident of Quincy May 20, 2007.

Beloved husband of 50 years of Beverly L. (Joy) Ayers of N. Quincy, Loving father of Charles W. Ayers and his wife Judith of Squantum, and State Representative Bruce J. Ayers and his wife Maureen of N. Quincy, Cherished grandfather of Lauren, Stephanie, Bryan, and Peter Ayers all of Squantum. Brother of Ramona Shea of Squantum and the late Norman Ayers.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the funeral from the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock St., Wollaston Thursday at 9AM.

Funeral Mass in St. Ann's Church, Wollaston at 10AM.

Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8 PM.

Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, West Quincy.

Donations in memory of Charles may be made to the North Quincy High School Football Program, 316 Hancock St., Quincy, MA 02171.

Mr. Ayers was a life long resident of Quincy. He was a graduate of North Quincy High School. Charlie worked for Duggan Brothers Chevrolet in Quincy for over 25 years before opening Ayers Brothers Collision Center and Handicap Conversion Center with his sons in Quincy. Charles retired from the family business in 1990 but enjoyed helping his sons out at work when ever he could. Charles enjoyed spending the winters with his wife Beverely in St. Petersberg ,FA where they had many friends. He was a member of the North Quincy Knights of Columbus, the Benevolent Quincy Lodge of Elks and an avid boater at the Squantum Yacht Club. Mr. Ayers was a member of St. Ann's Church in Quincy where he was an usher for many years. Charles helped organize the 4th of July parade in Squantum for many years. He was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed boating, cars, and old time local city politics. Charles loved to cook and entertain for his family and friends especially for the holidays. Most of all Charles had a great love for his family.
