Anne M. (Parrella) Travers, of Stoneham, formerly of Somerville, died Saturday at home surrounded by her loving family. She was 87.
Anne was raised in Watertown, the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Mary (Fantasia) Parrella. A Somerville resident for nearly 50 years, Anne worked for the Savings Bank Life Insurance Company in Boston and Woburn for over 20 years. A Stoneham resident for over 10 years, Anne enjoyed travel and shopping throughout New England. She was a big Red Sox fan but an even bigger fan of her family. Her children, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and all her family were most important to her.
She was the beloved wife of the late George J. Travers. She was a devoted mother of George W. Travers and his wife Patricia of Medford and Marilyn A. Travers of Stoneham. She was a loving grandmother to Elaine Brown and her husband Stephen of Malden and Lynne A. Travers of Medford. She was the loving great-grandmother of Jessalynne, Alexis, and Jaden Brown. She was a dear sister to late Joseph Parrella, Dorothy Morris and Alfred Parrella. Anne also leaves many loving nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family, Tuesday 4 - 8. Services will conclude with burial at St. Patrick Cemetery, Stoneham.
