W. Bridgewater, MA - James P. Emerson, age 62, a Vietnam era veteran with family ties to
Tewksbury, died Thursday evening, May 17, at the Brockton Hospital.
He was born in Boston, Arpil 12, 1945, a son of the late Daniel H. and Ruth (McDonough)
Emerson. He was raised in Jamaica Plain and Roslindale, and lived his entire life in and around
Boston.
In the early 1970's, he served in the United States Marine Corps, stateside.
He was employed as a sales person with various area charities.
He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, James P. Emerson Jr. and his wife Tina (McDonald)
of Bridgewater; two daughters and a son-in-law, Linda M. Owens and her husband Phillip of
Brockton, and Elaine D. Mortali of Roslindale; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Daniel H.
Emerson and his wife Ann (Humora) of Windham, NH, Deacon William R. “Deacon Bill”
Emerson of Tewksbury; and Richard G. Emerson of Tampa, FL; a sister and sister-in-law, Elaine
M. Emerson and her partner, Judy Taft of Sudbury; five grandchildren, James P. Emerson III,
Tyler R. Emerson, Stephen P. Walsh, Samantha M. Mortali, and Spencer C. Mortali; and his
former wife Rose (Desmarais) Emerson of Roslindale.
Following his cremation, memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 23, from 4 to 7
p.m. in the funeral home. His Memorial Service will be held Wednesday
evening at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Kindly omit flowers. Memorial to the Nat'l Multiple Sclerosis Society, 101A First Ave., Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451-1115, will be appreciated.
