Obituary

John M. Kelley, 60 of Derry, NH, died Thursday, May 10, 2007 in Parkland Medical Center. Mr. Kelley was born in Boston, MA on August 30, 1946, a son of Agnes (Stimpson) Kelley and the late Joseph Kelley. He was raised in Charlestown, MA and Somerville, MA and resided there for over 30 years. He was employed as a loader for The Teamsters Local 25 of Boston. He was also employed for a period of time as the manager of the Merit Gas Station on the McGrath Highway in Somerville. Illness forced his retirement, and he wintered in Clermont, FL and summered in Sandown, NH, until October 2006 when he moved to Derry. Mr. Kelley was a member of the Halcyon Club in Derry.
In addition to his mother of Nashua, NH; he is survived by his wife, Claire A. (Tivnan) Kelley of Derry; two daughters, Sheila A. Kelley of Lynn, MA, and Cheryl Kelley-Sears of Shirley, MA; several grandchildren; his brother, Joseph L. Kelley of Somerville; two sisters, Diane McLaughlin of Amherst, NH, and Dona Kelley-Lopez of Lunenburg, MA; a sister-in-law, Helene Regan of Plymouth, MA; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours were held on Monday, May 14th from 4 - 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Ave., Derry. Cremation followed.
