Obituary

LOWELL - Helen A. (Goulekas) Veves of Lowell, died Thursday May 10th after an extended illness at D'Youville Senior Care Center in Lowell. She was the beloved wife of the late Theodore A. Veves who died March 19, 2003. They were married for 60 years.

She was born in Lowell on July 2, 1917, and was a daughter of the late Andrew and Katerini (Biros) Goulekas. She was educated in Lowell schools and was a lifelong member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell.

She was in the restaurant business with her late husband for more than 45 years and she enjoyed most of all spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Sally and Louis Panas of Dracut; two grandchildren, Stephanie Phillips and her husband Neal of Orlando, FL, and George Panas and his wife Lisa of Cranston, RI; two great grandchildren, Sydney and Eric Panas of Cranston, RI; one brother and sister-in-law Charles and Helen Goulekas of Niantic, CT; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also the sister of the late Athena Doumas of Lowell.

Friends may call at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT, on Monday from 4 until 8p.m. Her funeral will be held from the funeral home on Tuesday at 9a.m. followed by her Funeral Service at 10a.m. at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Lewis St., Lowell. Burial in Westlawn Cemtery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name to the D'Youville Foundation - C Unit, P.O. Box 8828, Lowell, MA 01853.
