WORCESTER - Joseph F. Kittredge, 76, of 62 Garrison Ave., died Tuesday, May 8, 2007, at UMass Memorial Healthcare - University Campus, after an illness. His wife of 51 years, Ann M. (Fletcher) Kittredge, died December 23, 2002.
He leaves a son, Joseph T. Kittredge and his wife Paula of Worcester; a daughter, Caroline M. Kittredge of Worcester; a sister, Elizabeth Sheehan of Bradenton, Fla.; two brothers, James J. Kittredge of North Hills, Pa., Edward F. Kittredge of Hampton, NH; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. A brother, Edward F. Kittredge, died Oct. 12, 1942. He was born in Worcester, son of the late Edward P. and Ellie E. (Brennan) Kittredge, and lived here most of his life. He lived in Webster for 9 years before returning to Worcester in 2000. He graduated from Commerce High School and was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant.
Joe was a lineman for New England Electric where he worked over 37 years, until retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. John's Church, the Brotherhood of Utility Workers of New England, Local No. 330, and the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. He had also been a coach with the Tris Speaker Little League and a volunteer Big Brother. He enjoyed nature, bird watching, golf, fishing and his dogs.
CALLING HOURS will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 11, in KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 12, in ST. JOHN'S CHURCH, 40 Temple St. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
