Nila M. (Johnson) Allen, 78, of 669 Washington Street and formerly
of Spencer died Monday, May 7 in Golden Living, The Hermitage Nursing Home.
Her husband of 33 years Earl L. Allen died in 2001, She leaves a sister
Kathleen M. Wilk of Worcester, a brother Harold R. Johnson of Worcester and
several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by two brothers William O'Connor and Edward Johnson and
two sisters Marilyn Tonelli and Shirley Johnson.
Mrs. Allen was born in Worcester the daughter of Harold J. and Katherine
E. (O'Connor) Johnson. She graduated from Leicester High School. She
worked for many years as a paralegal for Paul Revere Life Insurance Co..
She was a member of St. Mary's Church and was a captain of their meditation
chapel. With a zest for life Nila traveled the world from Australia to
Europe, and all around the country. She was a kind and generous spirit all
of her life. The family wishes to thank the Lodge at Eddy Pond where Nila
spent her last year and also the staff at Hermitage Nursing home for all the
care they gave our beloved sister.
The funeral will be held Thursday, May 10 from J.HENRI MORIN & SON
FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of
the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will be in Mary, Queen of
the Rosary Cemetery, Spencer. Calling hours are Wednesday from 5:00-7:00
